"Night was falling at the lake.
Following a narrow path covered with leaves and leading to the lake through a tiny forest, she hesitated for a moment, carefully loosening the strings of her boots. She wanted to feel the sensation of the soft leaves under her feet, like walking on a colorful carpet. The smell of the fallen leaves mingling with the dark, moist earth brought back memories from her childhood in Africa, where she used to explore the mystic Knysna wood, imagining fairies and elves flying through the majestic trees and touching down on the surface of the forest streams, glistening in the sun rays that broke through the intimidating roof of the treetops.
She buttoned her coat in the chilly air as she continued walking barefoot towards the lake. The forest darkened when she suddenly reached the end of the tiny footpath. The lake stretched out in front of her like a deep green mirror, secretive and bathed in the golden glow of dusk, as if it held the key to many unsolved mysteries. She sat down on a stone; folding her dress around her bare feet and resting her chin on her knees, letting her thoughts wander through the beauty of what she saw.
She felt warmth spreading inside her body when she brought up images of her life. A sensation of deep gratitude filled her heart, bringing a smile on to her soft face. She thought of her love, of him, who enriched every moment of her existence with his intense presence, giving her endless joy and inspiration, releasing in her a fountain of unknown depth, a sea of love, with no boundaries".
